How to remove Quick Mac Care from Mac?What is Quick Mac Care?
The Quick Mac Care app supposedly keeps Mac computers clean and secure. It is presented as a system maintenance and security tool that scans and boosts operating systems by removing junk files, residual files, and other unwanted entries. Quick Mac Care may seem to be a useful and legitimate tool, however, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted application (PUA). People are likely to download and install Quick Mac Care unintentionally, since this app is promoted by including it into set-ups of other software.
This app scans systems for adware, malware, ransomware, recoverable space, and so on, however, Quick Mac Care does not allow users to fix any of the detected issues unless it is activated/purchased. It is also possible that all issues detected by this app are fake. In many cases, PUAs trick people into believing that their systems are full of various 'issues' and that paying for so-called 'full versions' will resolve them. Unfortunately, many applications operate in this way, and this might include Quick Mac Care. Furthermore, PUAs are often bundled into set-ups of other software - they are then downloaded and installed together with other PUAs such as browser hijackers, adware, and so on. Browser hijackers and adware type apps usually cause redirects to untrustworthy web pages, collect data, and feed users with unwanted ads. Apps promoted using deceptive methods should not be trusted, and therefore we recommend that you uninstall Quick Mac Care and other PUAs.
PUAs such as Quick Mac Care supposedly provide useful features and functionality, however, few operate as advertised. In many cases, apps of this type are promoted on deceptive websites or using dubious (deceptive) methods. PUAs should never be trusted or used. Some examples of other apps promoted by including them into set-ups of other programs are Qbit Mac Cleaner, MacEntizer, and Cleanup My Mac.
How did potentially unwanted applications install on my computer?
Quick Mac Care can be downloaded from its website, however, people often download/install PUAs unintentionally when developers promote them using the 'bundling' method. I.e., when they include PUAs into download/installation set-ups of other software and hide this information in settings such as 'Custom', 'Advanced', and so on. Furthermore, many people do not check these settings and thus inadvertently download and install unwanted apps with regular software.
![]() How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Do not click intrusive ads, especially if they are displayed on web pages relating to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and so on. They open potentially malicious pages or cause unwanted downloads/installations. Use direct links and official sources when downloading software. Do not trust third party software downloaders/installers, eMule, torrent clients (other Peer-to-Peer networks), unofficial pages, etc. Never skip steps of any download/installation setup - check 'Custom', 'Advanced' and other similar options/settings and opt-out of unwanted apps. If you encounter unwanted advertisements or redirects, check the list of programs that are installed the computer and applications (plug-ins, add-ons, and extensions) installed on the browser and remove all suspicious entries immediately. If your computer is already infected with PUAs, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate them.
